Trinity, Wesleyan, and Yale admissions representatives will review all applications for the Connecticut Counselor Tour following the May 29 deadline. To ensure a broad variety of community-based and college-access organizations are represented, only one counselor per organization may attend. Selected participants will be notified mid-June.

Connecticut Counselor Tour
Trinity, Wesleyan, and Yale’s Connecticut Counselor Tour Program is a new fully-funded, three-day, two-night event program for counselors from community-based and college-access organizations that coincides with Yale’s annual Multicultural Open House (MOH). Selected participants will attend campus tours, panels, information sessions, and workshops focused on identifying distinguishing characteristics of each institution as well as developing broader college counseling skills.
Applications for counselors will open in the spring.
Selected participants will be expected to join all scheduled events on Thursday, October 1 through Saturday, October 3. Saturday’s schedule will center on the Multicultural Open House, which is open to the public. Participants may opt to arrive earlier or leave later but will need to share arrival and departure details when accepting their invitation. Trinity, Wesleyan, and Yale will cover reasonable transportation costs associated with an early arrival or later departure, but participants will be responsible for any additional lodging and meal costs.
The Connecticut Counselor Tour Program accommodations will be single rooms in a New Haven hotel, only for selected participants.
The program begins with a welcome dinner on Thursday followed by a half day on Wesleyan’s campus, and a half day on Trinity’s campus on Friday. Participants will then participate in Multicultural Open House (MOH) programming on Saturday at Yale. The program will conclude Saturday afternoon.
Yes. The Connecticut Counselor Tour Program will include unstructured time to connect with current students and explore our campuses.
No. The Connecticut Counselor Tour Program is limited to counselors working with community-based and college access organizations serving students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education.
Selected participants will be invited to share details of dietary restrictions, food allergies and other accessibility needs prior to booking transportation.
