Yale Alumni Auditing Program

The Yale Alumni Auditing Program enables Yale alumni and their spouses to audit Yale College classes, expand their intellectual interests, make new friends, and experience daily life at Yale College. Yale offers this program to satisfy those who do not need course credits but who still have a thirst for learning.

Auditors may apply to audit any course that Yale College offers. Because Yale gives priority to students seeking degrees and credit, auditors generally do not have access to small seminars. Most of Yale’s many popular lecture courses welcome auditors. The Yale College Programs of Study (a.k.a. the "Blue Book") contains a detailed description of the courses offered in Yale College.

Eligibility and Fees

Degree-holding Yale alumni and their spouses may audit classes through the Alumni Auditing Program. The audit fee was $545 per term course for the 2012-2013 academic year. Auditors do not earn course credits. If you wish to take classes for credit, please consider applying to the Non-Degree Students Program.
