New students can begin conducting original research as soon as they arrive on campus. The First-Year Summer Research Fellowship supports experiences sciences and engineering under the supervision of a Yale faculty member. 

Yale’s nationally recognized STARS (Science, Technology and Research Scholars) Program support students who come from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics through mentorship, academic year study groups, and a research-based summer program.
