Counselor MOHvernight Program
Yale’s Counselor MOHvernight Program is a new fully-funded, overnight program for counselors from community-based and college-access organizations that coincides with Yale’s annual Multicultural Open House (MOH). Selected participants will join workshops with admissions officers and connect with Yale’s cultural centers student groups, and resource centers, through panels, performances, showcases, and tours.

Q: How will Yale select Counselor MOHvernight participants?
A: Yale’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions will review all applications for Counselor MOHvernight following the June 15 deadline. To ensure a broad variety of community-based and college-access organizations are represented, only one counselor per organization may attend. Selected participants will be notified in early July.
Q: Is it possible to leave the Counselor MOHvernight Program early or extend a stay beyond October 4-5?
A: Selected participants will be expected to join all scheduled events on the evening of Friday October 4 and Saturday October 5. Saturday’s schedule will center on the Multicultural Open House, which is open to the public. Participants may opt to arrive earlier or leave late but will need to share arrival and departure details when accepting their invitation. The admissions office will cover reasonable transportation costs associated with an early arrival or later departure, but participants will be responsible for any additional lodging and meal costs.
Q: What are the housing accommodations for selected participants?
A: The Counselor MOHvernight Program accommodations will be single rooms in a nearby hotel.
Q: What is the Counselor MOHvernight agenda?
A: The program begins with a reception and workshops on Friday evening followed by a full day of Multicultural Open House (MOH) programming on Saturday. The program will conclude early Saturday evening.
Q: Will I have time to meet up with my former students who attend Yale?
A: Yes. The Counselor MOHvernight program will be hosted on the central Yale campus and there will be time Friday and Saturday to connect with current Yale students.
Q: Are independent counselors eligible to participate in the Counselor MOHvernight Program?
A: No. The Counselor MOHvernight Program is limited to counselors working with community-based and college access organizations serving students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education.
Q: Will Yale accommodate dietary restrictions or other accessibility needs?
A: Yes. Selected participants will be invited to share details of dietary restrictions, food allergies and other accessibility needs prior to booking transportation. Most meals will take place in campus dining halls. Learn more about dietary requirements and Yale Dining.
