Even though December is one of the shortest months at Yale, it is also one of the most festive. Apart from final exams and papers, December is filled with holiday celebration as students are looking forward to the end of the semester and the long winter break. Even if Christmas is still a few weeks away, below are some of ways Yalies celebrate the holiday season.
Festive common room decorations in TD
Sagittarius birthdays (we’re both finally 20)
Christmas trees galore
A very festive late night acapella show
Ice sculpture competition by the Shops at Yale
Gingerbread house decorating
Upperclassmen holiday dinner
First snow of the school year
TD courtyard post snow
As you can see, Yale is very festive during the holiday season. Throughout the short weeks between Thanksgiving break and finals week, there are many special events, including the end of semester dance performances, ice carving competitions, social gatherings, and gingerbread house decorating. Campus is illuminated with holiday lights and decor, and, best of all, we get to experience the annual Holiday Dinner.
