James Gamble Rogers, the architect who designed most of the residential college buildings on campus, faux-aged the buildings by torching the rooftops, splashing acid on stone, and cracking the glass windows into Y shapes for Yale. Though they look centuries old, most of the buildings were constructed in the 1930s.
