Chick-fil-a Party

Chick-fil-a opened in Connecticut in early November, and it changed my life. Coming from the Houston area, Chick-fil-a is everywhere there and all throughout the South. Going to Chick-fil-a after class in high school to hang out with friends was common and characterized many of my fondest memories with my friends. For over three years, I was unable to get the taste of home at Yale because Chick-fil-a had not expanded to New England yet. Therefore, when Chick-fil-a opened its doors in Connecticut, I was beyond thrilled and ecstatic.

For my 22nd birthday, my two best friends and I decided to throw a Chick-fil-a themed party. We rented a Zipcar and drove from New Haven, CT to Wallingford, CT, which is about twenty minutes away. Neither of my two friends had tried Chick-fil-a before because they are both from New York where Chick-fil-a has yet to expand.

It was a really fun experience to get to show many of my closest friends something that was really important to me growing up. It was also an adventure trying to transport 400 nuggets from the restaurant to my dorm room. The party took place in the common room in Ezra Stiles. My friends were also so sweet and baked my birthday cake for me.

Overall, I could not have asked for a better way to spend my last birthday at Yale. I am very appreciative of all the friends I have made at Yale, and I am so lucky to be able to celebrate four birthdays here surrounded by love.
