Recently, a lot of my friends have been tossing around the “one-half” idea. We’re sophomores (read: we’re old). Two years into college and we feel old.
No, maybe it’s not age. Maybe we just feel like we know this place. For almost two years, we have grown and Yale has grown. Exciting things are happening on campus: a new batch of Yale College Council Officers will be elected in the next few days, Yale will open a brand new college in Singapore in 2013, and two new residential colleges will open their doors to students in 2015. Yale is in motion.

Like many other people, and mammals too I suppose, I’m attracted to bright colors. Consequently, while visiting colleges, I often found myself gravitating towards bulletin boards that had been plastered in various highlighter tones.

The Yale University New Asia Exchange program (YUNA) has, without a doubt, been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my sophomore year. The program brings together 8 Yale students and 8 students from the New Asia College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to engage in cultural exchange for a total of one month. Four months ago, we began planning to host our fellow program participants. We organized meals for our peers as well as different activities, both academic and casual for the students.
